HarborHero ("we," "us," or "our") is a community-built tool that provides real-time Port Aransas ferry wait times for travelers and locals. Our app is available at harborhero.app.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. This is used to identify your account and send you ferry alerts.
Alert preferences: Your saved ferry direction and wait-time threshold are stored so we can notify you when the wait drops below your target.
Usage data: We collect anonymous information about how the app is used (page views, feature interactions) to improve the experience. This data is not linked to your identity.
Location (optional — future feature): We may ask for your device location to confirm ferry queue activity and improve wait-time accuracy. Location access is always optional, clearly requested, and used only to count anonymous users near the ferry stacking lanes. We do not track your location outside the app or store precise GPS history.
We use your information to: operate your account and deliver ferry wait alerts, improve the accuracy of our wait-time estimates, and communicate important service updates. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties — ever.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We may share data with service providers (such as our cloud database and notification platforms) only to the extent needed to operate HarborHero. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2-compliant cloud database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen, which removes your personal information from our active database. You may also email us to request a copy of your data or ask questions about what we store.
HarborHero is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify you via the app. Continued use of HarborHero after changes constitutes acceptance.
